This tells me a few thing about that the company who moved you 1) They didn't take their time and pad all of your furniture 2) They didn't value your belongings by treating them with respect and 3) They weren't really "professional movers".
There is a huge difference between professional movers and movers trying to make an extra buck. Check out our "Quality vs. Quantity" movers blog post to learn more on this topic. This is why it is so important for you as the customer to do your research before you commit to that oh so appealing $50/hour add you saw for local movers. Even though the price may seem amazing, it's not, I promise! My dad always told me, "If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is."
When looking to hire a mover you need to always ask the following questions:
- Are you insured?
- Do you provide insurance to your customers?
- Are you registered with TXDOT?
- Do you own your own truck?
We will be more than happy to answer YES to all of these questions for you because we are in fact the real deal. So the next time you are on the hunt for a mover, it may be in your best interest to take a little more time and do your research.
